I have visited many church websites that all fall into the trap… organization. I will be the first to admit, I have created websites like this before. You land on the homepage and you have no idea what to do next. I think this is one of the biggest challenges web designers face. Making content readily available to your visitor is no simple task. In most cases, it takes a team of individuals and collaboration to get the best results.

Calvary Chapel Santa Fe Springs was no different. After hours of bouncing ideas back and forth, trying new menu structures, and renaming pages and sections, we finally arrived to a flow that made sense. Organization and a nice clean design will allow the ministry to grow and expand its online presence. Tell us what you think!

Calvary Chapel University

We are excited about the acquisition that has taken place between Calvary Chapel University and Calvary Chapel Education Association (CCEA)! I truly see how this ministry can be such a blessing to anyone wanting to continue their education. The website redesign is just phase 1! There is a vision to see this website triple in size! There is such an excitement around the possibilities of such an organization, and we are real excited to be apart of this ministry!

The NEW CCU website has some built in e-commerce features that allow students to pay for registration and sign-up for new classes right on the website! Take a look around and let us know what you think!

CCEA Redesign

In just 3 short years the Calvary Chapel Education Association (CCEA) has tripled in size! I truly see how this ministry can be such a blessing to schools and colleges. With such a steady, rapid growth we needed a better solution for getting news and resources to teachers, students and administrators.

The NEW CCEA website has all of the tools needed to accomplish their goal. First off a sharp new Blog! This is going to be used as a tool for teachers and administrators to reach out across the nation to its readers!

We also needed a way to highlight the CCEA “Partners”. This was accomplished by offering a spot on every page with a link back to their website to view the resources they can provide.

I am excited with what the future will hold for this organization!

Although our main focus here is professional web development, we also love designing for print. We had old business cards that were designed years ago and lacked character.

Our new business cards had to make a statement. They had to be eye popping and unique. I think we have achieved what we were looking for. Tell us what you think!

Trying to find a way of introducing this application is tough. The truth is, there is really no way of fully covering all of the advantages of having a program like this installed on your computer.

A short overview of the software is… an online “flash drive” that automatically syncs with your computers. Sounds pretty straight forward, but when you think about syncing photos, videos, music or just about any file you can think of across multiple computers then things start to get fun! I work on Macs all day (home and work), but we also have PC’s here in the office. If I ever need to grab a file that is on my Mac, it is as simple as logging into an online interface they have provided us. I then have the option to download a file, folder or keep the whole computer in sync with all of my files!

Sharing a file is as simple as right clicking and choosing “Copy Public Link”, from your computer or online interface! Drag some pictures into a folder named Photo’s and Dropbox automatically sets up an online album that you can email to friends! Absolutely Phenomenal! They are also working on an iPhone Application that will allow you to do all of this from your phone!

Whenever a file is “Synced” to or from their servers, it is first encrypted using AES-256 then transferred using an SSL Certificate (The type of SSL Certificates found when making an online purchase)! The best part is they give you 2GB’s for FREE! They also have 50GB and 100GB subscription based services. Watch an online demo of the software in action here. Sunday Night LIVE!

I know what you are thinking… “Sunday Night LIVE?” No, it’s not a new television program. It’s a youth out reach, and you guessed it, it happens on Sunday nights. This is by far one of the fastest websites we had to put together.

Since the name sounds so much like Saturday Night Live, we decided to use a “TV Show Theme” geared for the youth! Calvary Chapel of Downey has a vision of expanding the current website to include a LIVE webcasts (via UStream), and an archive of previous nights. Twitter, Facebook and RSS feeds are on the list too! Lot’s to do, not enough hours in the day!

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a powerful tool that enables you to keep track of all of you website traffic! The best part of this application is that it is free! All you need is a Google account and about 5 minutes!

Have multiple websites? Not a problem host all of you traffic in 1 place with multiple users! As soon as you login to Google Analytics you will see “Add Website Profile”. Enter in your information and the application will direct you to put the code at the bottom of your HTML pages, which you want to track. Every website is different, so let us know if you need any help with this step (Free of charge).

After about a day of establishing the account you will begin to see all of the data that this powerful tool provides. Buy the right keywords or advertise in the right place with all of the information that you will now have! Did I mention it was FREE!

Everett Roofing

Working with Flash is probably our favorite thing to do! We love coming up with new and original ideas that draw in audiences. Everett Roofing was no different.Everett Roofing wanted their new roofing website to ask you the question: “Are you ready”, for the next storm that is!

After some animation, simulation and special Sound FX, I think we were able to pull this off! Let us know what you think.

Stock.XCHNG

Stock imagery can get extremely expensive. Especially with the economy like we are in today, it is hard to justify hundreds of dollars for a single image. If you haven’t heard of Stock.XCHNG, it is a great alternative and could save you hundreds of dollars.

The nice thing about Stock.XCHNG is that it is absolutely FREE! Just create a free account and start downloading. There has to be a catch right? Well there are adds throughout the site, and if you are not careful you could easily mistake an ad for free stock. This screenshot shows what a typical search looks like. The first row of images is usually ads from their sister website called StockXpert. If you can just remember to ignore the first row then you will be ok!

Since this website has content provided by photographers, some photographers require giving them credit on your website or printed material, while others might ask to just contact them and ask for permission. Most however are free to use without any restrictions. At the bottom of every image you will find all of the information that you need to know about each particular image.

So, go on and start using free stock for all of your printing and online needs!

Shipwrecks & Snake Bites

We love challenges! When Senior Pastor Jeff Johnson at Calvary Chapel of Downey explained his idea for there next DVD package, we were excited! We caught his vision and ran with it. We enjoy coming up with new ideas and after a few adjustments we were well on our way to producing a new DVD package for sale. It is currently being sold at their Chapel Store and through Calvary Distribution!
